Note

This is the old schedule we used for intensive, three-day weekend courses. We now have moved to a more-relaxed schedule with classroom sessions separated from field sessions so it allows more time to take in the material. The schedule is rearranged but the course content is the same.

COURSE SCHEDULE
LEVEL 1 ONE WEEKEND JUNEAU COURSE

Our Level 1 courses are 3-day, 33-hour courses that meet and exceed the American Avalanche Association curriculum and teach according to AAA observations guidelines, the US standard. The one-weekend course schedule includes 3 full field days and 3 full evenings of classroom sessions.

Note that this course requires a full three field days. We schedule it on holidays whenever we can, but it is your responsibility to arrange time off from work or school if necessary. Any reasonable employer or teacher will allow an absence for this potentially lifesaving training, but will expect you to arrange it well in advance.
