CONFERENCE UPDATES
Excitement is building as this year's workshop approaches. As of September 15, less than 25 spaces
are available ISSW 2004. Online registration is no longer available. You can register by fax, phone or in person at registration on Sunday, September 19th after 14:00 as long

Papers & Presentations.Over 130 abstracts have been submitted and reviewed by the papers committee. Of these, 63 have
been selected as oral presentations. The remaining 70-plus abstracts will be poster presentations. The
papers committee was impressed by the exceptional quality of the abstracts. Click here to

Banquet on Thursday, September 23rd. Please note that the banquet will be held at the Mangy Moose Saloon & Restaurant in Teton Village on
Thursday September 23rd. A presentation by Grand Teton National Park climbing ranger Renny Jackson will follow
the banquet in the Walk Festival Hall.
Field Trips on Wednesday, September 22nd. Contrary to previous information on this site, the alternate day for field trips
in the event of poor weather will be Thursday, September 23rd ONLY. Tuesday, September 21st will no longer be
an alternate field trip day.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Snow scientist and avalanche practitioners from many nations will meet in Jackson Hole, Wyoming to present papers and exchange information at the Arcteryx International Snow Science Workshop 2004. ISSW 2004 will continue the theme of past workshops "A Merging of Theory and Practice". The American Avalanche Institute, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and United States Forest Service will be hosting this event.
One of the highlights of the 2004 ISSW in Jackson Hole is the field trip option of a tour of the Wyoming Department of Transportation avalanche program on Teton Pass or a tour of the avalanche program at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
ISSW 2004 will be held in Teton Village at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort next to Grand Teton National Park and the Bridger Teton National Forest. Yellowstone National Park is a scenic one-hour drive. Hiking, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, floating and numerous other outdoor recreational opportunities will be readily available to workshop participants. Dining establishments, galleries, pubs and shops are plentiful in Teton Village and the Town of Jackson.
