Welcome This is the National Avalanche Center's Interactive Backcountry Tour. We will set the scene but you have to make the decisions and follow them through. Ready? The Scene You and three friends are going on a ski tour called the Stone Creek to Spruce Creek loop. You have never done it before, but you have instructions from friends who have. They assure you that it is mostly fun, rolling terrain with only one short steep climb to Spruce Creek Pass. The Tour usually takes about 5 hours. Your group is experienced. You are wearing avalanche beacons and have checked their function. You have shovels, probes, first aid kits, repair kits, walkie talkies, plenty of food, water and clothing.
