Upcoming Conferences on Snow and Avalanches

International Snow Science Workshop 2008. September 21st to 27th, 2008 in Whistler, British Columbia. This biennial conference aims to "merge theory and practice" and has become a must attend event for most avalanche professionals from North America as well as many scientists and professionals from overseas. International Snow Science Workshop 2009. September 27th to October 2nd, 2009 in Davos, Switzerland. This will be a special ISSW, and will be the first one held in Europe. I'll link to the website when it becomes available.

American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting. The AGU holds their annual fall meetings in December in San Francisco. These meetings bring together a diverse group of geophysicists, including many people interested in various aspects of snow. Search their website for snow sessions of interest.

European Geosciences Union. The EGU holds an annual spring meeting which often includes one or several sessions on snow and avalanches. Go to their website to search for sessions of interest.
