Nearly all avalanches that involve people are triggered by the victims themselves or a member of their party. This is actually good news, it means that if we know how to recognize avalanche danger, we can avoid it. So if you are interested in learning more about avalanches, come along with us.

      First we will learn why avalanches occur. Then we will spend a virtual day in the backcountry where we will address everything from packing your gear to learning how to assess avalanche danger and how to travel safely in avalanche terrain.
