We
offer the highest quality avalanche programs available in the Northwest
for the serious backcountry skier and climber. The IMG staff are all
experienced professionals in the avalanche field including forecasting,
control, guiding, and research. Most of our instructors have between
20-25 years of professional avalanche forecasting experience.

IMG Avalanche Programs |

All of our avalanche training and education programs our conducted as International Mountain Guides programs. IMG is the premier mountaineering guide service in the Northwest. All of the courses feature the same world-renowned instructor staff and unique field training environment at Crystal Mountain.
Paul Baugher, a co-owner of IMG, personally oversees the training program and instructs in the courses. IMG now has the opportunity to conduct avalanche training at Mt. Rainier. Paul has conducted training for guides and climbing rangers on the mountain for many years. This year for the first time, IMG will be able to offer to the general public, a level III avalanche course on Rainier.

The level I and II avalanche course length and content is consistent with
guidelines established by the American Avalanche Association. Course
director, Paul Baugher, was the vice president and member of the American
Avalanche Association education committee when these guidelines were
developed.
