A snag with rime deposit near the summit of Naomi Peak

 

A small natural wind slab avalanche in Castle Rock near Naomi Peak.  The slope at ~9600' faces northeast.

 

Distant crown on an upper elevation southeast facing slope in the Mount Naomi Wilderness

 

More evidence of natural wind slab avalanches on the Southwest face of Magog

 

This wind drift on a northeast facing roll at around 8300' cracked over the weekend but did not avalanche.

I tried to build a house of cards with large flakes of brittle rime-crust harvested from the snow surface.  This nasty stuff could easily cause future avalanche problems.
