12-3-04 Snow Profile

             A smooth rime crust formed just before the Thanksgiving snowstorm.  The bottom of it reminds me of a pool table.

                   + or-16 inches of powdery Thanksgiving Weekend snow sits on top of the crust.

                                                                           Weak snow just under the crust falls out of the test pit wall as it is excavated.
