2003-2004 Avalanche Season

          Crown on Mendon Peak in the Wellsville Mountain Wilderness. The avalanche occurred overnight 1-1-04

                   Trees topped by the air-blast on the ridge-top to the north of avalanche                         

                            The avalanche uprooted trees and tossed them about.                     

      The avalanche destroyed several acres of mature Maple, Mountain Ash and Aspen forest.

                   Wind-drift avalanche across Beaver Creek 2-3-04. This avalanche was just north of hwy89                                   

                These wet avalanches made for dangerous fishing conditions on the Logan River. 2-18-04                     

      More than 3-dozen boy scouts were trapped in their snow caves while winter camping.  3-6-04
