From a distance to the north we could see evidence of natural avalanche activity on Cornice Ridge. These soft wind slabs were triggered on 3-27-08 by cornice falls. The huge cornices in the region present an obvious danger, especially when its windy or warm.
Here's a nicer shot of a partially buried shallow crown from a natural wind slab release under a rock outcropping above the boiler. The avalanche is typical of the storm, similar to several others observed near by.
