(more 3-1-07 avalanches)
Toby Weed

On my ride in the Logan Peak Area, I saw evidence of numerous natural avalanches from last Friday morning's extensive cycle.  This northeast facing slope at around 9000' is just around the corner and south from the Music Note in Mill Hollow.

These two killer slabs under Millville Peak were among the most frightening of the slides I saw on my ride.

These may have been remotely triggered on Friday.  The avalanches did not run very far, but they ran right into the trees.  I'm glad no one got caught in then because of the lethal potential.

This broad avalanche at around 9400' on the popular east face of Providence Peak is a bit drifted-in, but still visible.

And here's another one around the corner in the more north facing, 3-Terraces

I took this on 3-6-07. The natural HS on the lower Cornice Ridge Roll occurred on 2-26-07.
