Storm clouds build over the Bear River Range.  New snowfall this weekend will bury and preserve weak snow now on the surface.

Here's a clean mid-pack shear.  It failed with a moderate score on a compression test.  SH ?  A significant load might cause avalanches to step down to this layer on some slopes.
