              An intentional cornice-drop triggered this wind-drift avalanche on a 39 degree northeast facing slope at about 8700' in elevation.  The 20-30' wide avalanche was 1-2' deep and consisted of heavy, wind-deposited new snow from the last couple days.  A skier unintentionally triggered a neighboring pocket soon afterward.  (photo by Dave Kikkert)
