Steep Hollow 12-16-04

                                                                     ( natural avalanche occurred sometime after 12-10-04 )

                              This large hard slab naturally avalanched sometime after the windy storm of December 7th through 9th.

 There are lots of similar slopes that unfortunately did not avalanche.  You might trigger an avalanche playing on these and other neighboring steep  wind loaded slopes

         This avalanche, on a steep upper elevation northeast facing slope, was around 150 feet wide and 2 to 6 feet deep at the crown.
