Avalanche Incidents by Hazard Category - 1988-1993 in Utah
Although we have no good statistics of avalanche fatalities by danger level in Utah, these statistics come from Switzerland, which are probably similar to Utah. Less people are killed during high and extreme conditions because people generally avoid avalanche terrain during dangerous conditions. Accidents happen when people percieve that it's safe enough to go out, but there's still enough booby traps to catch people.
