Photographs of recent avalanches are a great way to see what is currently happening with the snowpack and we appreciate them being sent in. If you'd like to help expedite the process, ensure creative integrity of your photographs and get them listed correctly, here's a few optional submission suggestions.
Details:
1) Date - The date, or best guess date of when the avalanche
occured
2) Area - The general area where the avalanche occured. ie: Ogden,
Provo, Unita, Salt Lake or Logan mountains
3) Location - The drainage, canyon or specific area
4) A few words on the avalanche
5) Photo credit.
Photo preperation:
If you like to tweak your own photos, here's the format we use.
- Crop photos to 400 x 300 pixel horizontal format
- Change resolution to 72 pixel screen resolution
- Save as "medium" jpg quality of 5 - 7
- Adjust color and/or color balance to best show avalanche details.
