DESCRIPTION: Upper Broad's Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon is well known for it's glide avalanches due to the ambundance of slick, underlying rock surfaces. These avalanches occur when water from the melting snow lubricates the bed surface enough to allow an entire slab to break out.
