White Pine Drainage in Little Cottonwood Canyon

A large explosive released avalanche on the west-facing headwall of Red Baldy. This avalanche was about 800 feet wide and released on buried depth hoar.

Another deep slab avalanche in the upper cirque in White Pine - northeast facing.

A close-up view of the crown face of a slide on the same day in Boulder Basin of White Pine. This one faces east and is about 700 feet wide. This crown averaged 5 feet deep.
